Entering a team
 
The official deadline for entering a team is 3rd May (10am). Each team must contain:
  • 5 Batsmen
  • 1 Allrounder
  • 1 Wicket Keeper
  • 4 Bowlers
  • And select 1 player as Captain (who will score double points)
Each player has a rating ranging from 1 (good) to 9 (poor). The total sum for the ratings of all 11 players must be AT LEAST 41. You will be able to make up to 12 changes during the season, with a maximum of 4 changes in any week. There are no restrictions on the number of players from any county or county.
You need to give your team a name, and also enter your own name. Your email address will be used to send you updates during the tournament.
If you can't use the web based form, then I will also accept emailled teams or (if you must) on paper.

 
Which matches count?
 
Points are scored in all the major matches in the English season - starting from the beginning of the competition (3rd May) up until the last day of the season (September 24th). In particular, the following matches are considered:
  • County Championship
  • Test matches (DOUBLE POINTS)
  • Twenty20 Cup
  • Pro40 Matches
  • C & G knockout 1-day Trophy
  • National 1-day League
  • 1-day internationals - NatWest Series (DOUBLE POINTS)
  • Tour matches (Sri Lanka/Pakistan/West Indies A against the counties/MCC/Scotland/England A)

 
Scoring system
 
Every player in your team is awarded or deducted points for runs scored, wickets taken, catches and stumpings, as follows:
BATTING
Every 5 runs in an innings 1 pt
Every 100 scored 10 bonus pts
Player out for 0 (excl bowlers) -10 pts
(e.g. A score of 100 is given 20 points plus 10 bonus points: a total of 30 points, while scoring 99 only gives you 19 points)
BOWLING
Every wicket taken 5 pts
Each 5 wickets in the innings 15 bonus pts
Every 10 runs conceded -1 pt
FIELDING
Every catch 3 pts
Every stumping 10 pts

Changing your team
 
It will be possible to make transfers during the competition to strengthen your team.
  • You can make a total of 12 changes during the season.
  • Each week, there is a maximum of 4 changes that can be made.
  • After every change, the team must still be valid (i.e. total rating of at least 41).

 
Deadlines
 
Any changes (or team entries) must be made before 10am to be registered on that day. If after this deadline, the change will be registered on the following day.
The transfer becomes active at the next match (but you can't change players mid-match).
